Introduction

Noah's Ark Veterinary Services, Inc.

Building and grounds.

The Equipment

My name is Linda V Ford, DVM

I graduated from LSU Veterinary School in 1989 and have been practicing veterinary medicine and surgery ever since. Noah's Ark Vererinary Services was started by me in 1998 as a mixed animal mobile clinic.

The building is now approximately 3,000 sq. ft. and sits on .35 acre and there is an adjacent half acre on this site. It is currently zoned as commercial / residential. I thought about developing the extra space for cattle or horse working area but  did not do so. There is potential for a variety of options for this half acre lot.

While most of my equipment is aging, most of it was purchased new and maintained. I am currently using Abaxis  CBC and Chemistry machines. I have a MinXRay machine and a Companion Class IV Laser Therapy Machine. I have not switched to digital radiography and I do not perform ultasonography.

History of Noah's Ark

The Practice

Intent to Sell Practice

Soon after starting the business, I rented a building and the practice took off from there. I used to do farm calls but currently most of the business is in house small animal. Eventually, I bought the building and then added on another 1500 sq. ft. to the building.

Due to changing dynamics and demographics over the years we have evolved into a mostly small animal practice. I perform small animal medicine and surgery and provide services for other pets such as goats and horses. I have indoor climate controlled horse stocks and we do grooming and boarding services.

Currently this is a one doctor practice and I am only working 35 hours a week. I am hoping to retire. I could be doing twice as much business with the staff I have. There is potential to expand tremendously. A specialty practice would do nicely here as well as an equine practice. I would like to sell the practice and real estate together but would consider leasing the real estate.
